I LOVE music. My friend and collaborator Darry Logan came up with a title for an imaginary music show called “Watch that Sound”, which I have always loved because it describes the joyful challenge of using one medium to celebrate another.
I have been a DJ for 31 years, and I don't think there is a better way of forming an immediate connection with an audience than trying to work out how to make as many people dance and have a good time as possible.
I worked at MTV for many, many years as a presenter, producer, and programmer. So, I have a deep well of experience in this area that I hope comes across in some of the films I have made with musicians. I would like to make more.
